Murray’s Making ‘Mistakes’ Magical
Please tell me your ‘MISTAKE’ that turned magical! I am publishing a book of my stories and other peoples heartfelt story’s. When you made a TOTAL mistake that turned out to be 100 times better than what was planned (Magical).
My example is: When I was performing at The New Frontier Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas… I brought an older gentleman up on stage to help me with an effect. The stage was about 3 feet off the ground, and size 20 x 18. It was like a comedy club stage with a wall behind me and no side wings… just tables and chairs in the front and sides, about 180 degrees round. I had this guy up on stage, during the act the man was watching me and took 2 steps back too many and went ass over tea kettle, falling right off the stage, legs in the air, falling in between two tables and some chairs, missing everything but hitting the floor. The audience gasped and I thought their goes my career… he laughed it off looking a little dazed and came back up on stage and finished the show… he really had a bad fall… like Jughead in the comics… I was so worried he’d sue me later for something wrong, everyone was worried my producer, my agent, my manager, and the entertainment director of the hotels… About 6 weeks after that show… the entertainment director comes down to the theatre with an email, hands me the email and says… you will never believe this… (I thought here we go, I am pack’in my bags…) The man wrote… “I saw Murray the magician at your casino’s theatre about a month and a half ago… it was an amazing show, actually the BEST show I have ever gone to in my life and probably will ever see in my life… You see for the last 40 years I have been going to a chiropractor every week because of this excruciating pain in my back from my years in the war… Since I fell of the stage during Murray’s show at the Frontier Hotel, I haven’t had to see the Chiropractor once since that day… He’s not just a magician… He’s an Angel!” – Joseph Stevenson, AZ
